Tomorrow begins Navratri — the nine-night Goddess festival of ancient India.
For nine days and nights, we journey with nine different archetypes of the warrior mother Goddess Durga.
To me, Durga represents something deeply personal:
the power within each of us to give birth to the most authentic version of ourselves.
And each Goddess we meet along the way reveals another power we are being asked to reclaim.
This journey is at the heart of my book, The Way of the Goddess.
And in many ways, it is also the journey beneath True to Yourself.
The podcast takes the teachings of the book into the places where we are actually living them — our relationships, heartbreaks, fears, desires, boundaries, healing, and becoming.
So this Navratri, I invite you to let the podcast accompany you through your own journey home to yourself.
079: How to Love Yourself When Someone Hurts You
Sometimes another person's behavior reveals who they are. But it can also reveal where we are being asked to become more loyal to ourselves.
080: How to Love Someone Who Hurt You Without Abandoning Yourself
At the deepest level, loving another and loving ourselves are not entirely separate. A practice for extending love without confusing love with trust, access, or reconciliation.
081: How to Release Hatred and Let Karma Do Its Work
Their actions belong to them. Your response belongs to you. Release the need to administer someone else's karma — and reclaim the energy you want to bring into your own life.
If you have a copy of The Way of the Goddess, this is a beautiful time to take it off the shelf again.
Over these nine sacred nights, you can journey through the nine universal Goddess archetypes of Durga — from Shailaputri to Siddhidatri — allowing each one to illuminate another dimension of your own becoming.
If you're new to the book, perhaps this Navratri is your warm invitation to begin.
Vedantic Wisdom & Somatic Healing for Emotional Freedom
There are the demons we encounter outside ourselves.
And then there are the ones that live much deeper:
Old impressions. Subconscious desires. Patterns we inherited or absorbed long ago that can quietly keep us separated from who we really are.
Next weekend, October 17–18, during Navratri itself, I'll be teaching an experiential online workshop through the California Institute of Integral Studies.
Together, we’ll explore the Vedantic teachings of samskaras — impressions held within the subconscious — and vasanas, the deeper tendencies and desires that can continue shaping our behavior, while weaving in somatic and expressive practices for transformation.
In the ancient Goddess stories, Durga destroys demons.
In our own lives, those demons don't always have horns and weapons.
Sometimes they are the unconscious patterns that keep us repeating what we are finally ready to outgrow.
For the empath spiritual seeker on the journey home to yourself. Each week, receive ancient wisdom, personal reflections & soulful practices to help you trust yourself, live authentically and feel more radiant and free.
