Living Liberated

Have you ever trusted someone more than yourself?

Dear Reader,

How many times have you trusted someone so deeply — a teacher, a therapist, a healer, a mentor — that little by little, you started trusting their voice more than your own?

How many times have you overridden a "no" you already knew was true because surely they knew better?

Second-guessed your own perceptions the moment someone with more expertise, more authority, or more spiritual language disagreed with you?

Called it surrender... when really it was self-abandonment?

If this feels familiar, I hope you'll hear this first:

Your power was never truly gone.

Even if you learned to trust someone else's voice more than your own, your inner knowing is still yours to reclaim.

Many of us were never taught how to receive guidance without losing ourselves in it.

We only learned how to hand our discernment over — to the expert, the guide, the person who "must know better" — until their interpretation of our lives started to matter more than our own.

But eventually...

that quiet handing-over doesn't just cost you a decision.

It costs you your relationship with your own inner voice.

I know this journey personally.

There was a time in my life when I placed profound trust in a spiritual teacher — and slowly, that trust turned into a relationship that became genuinely harmful.

The hardest part wasn't only what happened on the outside.

It was what happened to my own mind: questioning my intuition, my "no," and eventually my own understanding of what was even true.

What I eventually learned is that healing didn't require me to reject every teacher, guide, or spiritual tradition.

It required me to rediscover the part of myself that no true teacher should ever ask me to surrender.

I share more of that story — and how I found my way back to my own inner knowing — in this week's episodes.

If you've been experiencing...

  • overriding your intuition because someone else "must know better"
  • fear that questioning a teacher, therapist, healer, or mentor is somehow wrong or dangerous
  • needing someone else to interpret your own experience before you trust it
  • boundaries that get reframed back to you as fear, ego, or resistance
  • slowly becoming smaller, more dependent, or less yourself in a relationship built around guidance
  • still hearing someone's voice, judgment, or expectations in your head, even after the relationship has ended

...this week's podcast journey was created for you.

ON THE TRUE TO YOURSELF PODCAST 🎙️: your soulful companion for the journey home to yourself

Every week on True to Yourself, we're walking together through the nine-stage Divine Feminine Hero's Journey — moving from survival to self-realization through reflection, ritual, and guided healing practices you can return to again and again.

This week brings us to the Crown Chakra — the seventh traditional chakra and seventh stage of our nine-stage journey — guided by Kalaratri, the fierce Vedic goddess who destroys illusion so Truth can remain.

My hope isn't simply that you'll understand your Crown Chakra.

It's that you'll learn to trust your own flame again — even after someone else's voice became louder than your own.

EPISODE 061 ~ CROWN CHAKRA REFLECTION

Have you ever trusted someone so deeply that you started trusting their voice more than your own?

In this episode, I open our Crown Chakra series guided by Kalaratri and the ancient story of the demon whose every drop of blood multiplied into another demon, which symbolizes the nature of the challenges we encounter on the spiritual path.

We explore five signs you may have unknowingly given your power away to a teacher, therapist, healer, coach, or mentor.

I also share a deeply personal story of my own profound trust in a spiritual teacher that eventually became harmful — and what it took to begin trusting myself again.

Listen if you've ever lost yourself in someone else's guidance.

The answer isn't permanent distrust.

It's learning to see clearly without abandoning yourself.

EPISODE 062 ~ CROWN CHAKRA RITUAL

Before you reach outward for guidance, what if you asked yourself one question first:

What do I already know?

In this episode, I guide you through an Inner Guru Ritual — a four-layer listening practice for hearing your own wisdom beneath fear, desire, conditioning, and other people's voices.

At the heart of this practice is a teaching I believe deeply:

A true guru awakens the guru in others.

We'll also explore the Bhagavad Gita's wisdom of acting without attachment to outcome, helping you distinguish the quieter voice of inner knowing from the fears and desires that can sometimes masquerade as intuition.

Listen if you're ready to receive guidance without losing your relationship with your own inner voice.

Bring one question.

Light a candle.

And begin.

EPISODE 063 ~ CROWN CHAKRA RELEASE

Do you already know, intellectually, that someone no longer has authority over you...

and still hear their voice in your head?

In this final episode of our Crown Chakra journey, guided by Goddess Kalaratri's archetypal sword, I lead you through a full visualization moving from Root to Crown to release a teacher's, healer's, mentor's, or other trusted person's lingering hold — their judgment, expectations, or the approval you once needed from them.

But this isn't about throwing away everything you received from that relationship.

It's about learning to distinguish what was wisdom from what wounded you.

As Kalaratri reminds us:

A flame that lights another flame loses nothing.

Your light was never meant to depend upon someone else's permission to burn.

Listen if you're ready to reclaim your voice, your discernment, and your relationship with the sacred.

You can keep the wisdom and release the wound.

If You Feel Called to Go Deeper

If this week's exploration of reclaiming your inner knowing touches something deeper you're ready to work with, I'd love to invite you to an upcoming live online workshop I'm teaching with Cheryl Montanez through California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) Public Programs.

Vedantic Wisdom and Somatic Healing for Emotional Freedom

October 17–18 • Online

Together, we'll weave Vedantic wisdom with somatic and energy-based practices, reflective inquiry, ritual, and medicinal storytelling to explore emotional freedom not simply as something we understand intellectually, but something we begin to experience and embody.

A Little More of My Own Story

What's Coming Next

This week brings us to the Crown Chakra — the seventh traditional chakra — but our Divine Feminine Hero's Journey doesn't end here.

Next week, we move beyond the traditional seven-chakra map and into the next stage of our nine-stage journey:

Rejuvenation.

We'll explore what it means not simply to live longer or look younger, but to replenish our vitality, reconnect with our life force, and rediscover parts of ourselves that may have gotten buried beneath responsibility, stress, and simply growing up.

As always:

Reflect. Ritual. Release.

I'd love for you to subscribe on your favorite podcast app so you don't miss what's next.

And if someone came to mind while reading this — someone who still hears another person's voice louder than their own — I would be deeply grateful if you shared this week's series with them.

Some of the most meaningful healing begins when one person quietly says,

"I thought of you."

Thank you for trusting me with your attention, your heart, and a small part of your own journey home.

With all my love 🌿,

Ananta

P.S. These weekly episodes are part of the Divine Feminine Hero's Journey—a nine-chakra path inspired by The Way of the Goddess that gently guides you from fear to freedom, self-abandonment to self-love, and survival to sovereignty.
